There are some wedding dresses I am interested in trying on. I know they say the style you think you like may not be the style that looks good on you but in this case I know what I like and I know what I want.
So my question is - did you go to the stores with specific dresses in mind and try those (and maybe some others you found in the store while there) on OR did you just go to random bridal shops and try on whatever you saw there that you liked?
What I am trying to say is, can you go to the store and tell the ladies 'I would like to try on the John Smith #123 please'.
Sorry I am so confusing! I have a hard time getting my point across! Thanks!!

That's exaclt what you do. Make sure the bridal store carries the line, make an appointment, bring all the pics of the dresses you want to try on, and thats it. They will bring the dresses you want to try on plus others that are similar in taste. Good luck and have fun!!!

yes if you have particular dresses you want to try on, then tell them...tell them what cuts you like, beading and whatnot, they will have you try on something they think will look good on you and it may...but if you really don't like it, don't make them..I didn't want a lot of beading and kept telling the salespeople, even my mom and FMIL, but they kept bringing ones covered in beads!
But look through all the racks, don't let the sales person do it, they might not show you one that you might love..
Hope That was helpful and not confusing!

I actually did the random thing... went to salons and told them what kind of 'look' I wanted. It took a while but worked out OK in the end!

I would have an idea of what you want when you go shopping, but definitely be open about trying on other dresses. I think my dress looks ugly on the hanger but I love it when it's on me!!!

I brought in my big binder of tear sheets. The sales person brought me those exact dresses. As long as the store carries the brand you like, they should also have the dress. Though it would hurt to call before your appt.

Re: Buying your wedding dress.........a question..
I did a little bit of everything. at Jessica Mclintock I had an specific dress in mind, but they don't have that many so I found it myself. AT RK bridal i browsed and picked a few, but I didn't know what i was looking for. that's a good store if you know what you want. the sales peopel don't really help you in like in a small store, but they can tell you if they carry something, & the dresses are all aranged by designer.
At a store in westchester, the lady just told me to look through certain racks 9 in my price range-snobby store!) and then after i trtied them on she got me soem similar ones. and at teh BRidal garden I browsed b/c i was early, and I was goign to askto try a few I found , but then Collette asked what I was looking for & she picked the same ones I did, plus some others. one we both picked was the one i ended up getting.
In a good store, you should be ables to say, I want to try on John Smith #4 & 5, and Mary Jane #8 & then if you are so so with them, they should be able to help you find something similar you may like better.
