bwahahah we're probably going to order bat mitvah invites.(LONG with pics and a ??)
Sorry this is long but my invite hunt is driving me nuts.
FH and I CAN NOT find invites we like. We don't want to DIY from scratch an we don't want to order online... like, I'm willing to add crystals or ribbons myself if it's going to save a decent amount of money, but I don't have the patience to print hem myself. We wan't something with some kind of detail, but something still modern and sophisticated...
So we went to Long Island WEdding Planners and Christine was great. I knew almost nothing about invites but she was so patient, helped me narrow down what I liked and what I wanted... but nothing was doing it for me color wise. I found a lot of designs I liked, but in the budget I gave her, those invites aren't customizable with color, they only come as shown which is annoying.
So I finally asked if I up my budget a little bit, how does that expand my options. After thinking about it, she goes 'I HAVE THE PERFECT INVITE FOR YOU' and she DID
BUT
It's a BAT MITVAH INVITE
AND they are WAAYYYY over our budget.
But we love them and I can't find anything else I like.
THey are pocketfolds on cornflower-ish shimmer paper with thermography print, a ribbon and a swarovski crystal inside (which isn't as expensive as you'd think)
FH says we should jsut get them but I want to shop a little more before I resign myself to spending that much money on paper that people are going to throw away.
How can I get an invite with the same feel, the same elegance, but less expensive? They're coming out to about $1100 for 100 invites right now and I'd only be willing to change them if it was going to save me 3-4 hundred dollars. Anything less than that, I may as well just get what I fell in love with.
Also, We went on Sunday to the Lion int he Sun in Park Slope... they were really nice too but they had all the same stuff LIWP did for about the same price... so whatever. I still didn't find anything else to fall in love with... I just wasn't expecting to spend $11-12 per invite
If we get these, we'll probably change the ink and ribbon to an eggplant so go with our color scheme.

So is there anywhere else I should try where maybe they'll have something with the same feel but not as expensive? Would a printer be a good place to go instead of a stationery store or paperie?
