Does anyone have any info on getting hair and makeup done for the wedding here? My mother recommended it to me but I have never been to any location. She said that you can get your hair and makeup done there for you wedding. Any info out there?
UPDATE Okay so I got in touch with the manager of the Port Jefferson Cactus Salon and they told me their prices which are REALLY affordable. If anyone is interested, FM me for their bridal/bridesmaid hair and makeup application prices at this location...I know that different locations may have different prices

You can - the guy who has been cutting my hair since I was a kid owns the one in the MayFair Shopping Center in Commack. I am having my hair and makeup done through them for myself, the Moms and the bridal party - but, I haven't gotten any pricing info as of yet....sorry I couldnt be of much help - but I definitely recommend the Cactus salons!

What area are you looking for ? There are alot of salons on the Island that do hair and make up for weddings, and this way you can get feedback for the area you are looking for.
I went to Maximus in Westbury because of the location and because of the price. Cactus in Syosset was too expensive for me. They wanted a lot of money to open the salon early, since I had a daytime wedding.

My wedding is on a Sunday, I don't need to have the salon open early because I am having an evening wedding. I would need hair and makeup for me and my four bridesmaids...possibly the mothers too. I would like it to be in suffolk county. I know there's a cactus salon in Port Jefferson which is the town where my wedding is so that was perfect...i have no idea about pricing though

You're in pt jeff?... I was going to suggest going to Roosevelt field mall, my MOHs sister is a student at the cactus salon... she did my hair for my eparty and it came out AMAZING! they have prof's on site helping too... and they are REALLY inexpensive... like an updo is under $60 (well under)... but it might be a bit far for you on that day. I know in general cactus is a bit of the higher end... I mean my mothers a hair dresser and so is my MOHs aunt and now her younger sister so I get mine done for free....

Yea I'm in Pt. Jeff so Roosevelt Field Mall is kind of far...I guess I can just call the cactus salon in Port Jeff and ask them for info....should I wait on calling them or should I do that soon?

Cactus has a pretty good reputation ive gotten hair and makeup done there years ago for proms and i still go to the one in plainview for waxing so i'd have a trial and see how you like it

Thanks guys!!! I guess I will get in touch with them over the summer and ask them what their prices are...I don't think they will be totally booked and even if the one location I call says that they have something else to do that morning...there are like 30 other locations I can call!
