The place is gorgeous and the food is absolutely delicious. We had my goddaughter's baptismal reception there two years ago.

I believe that is owned by the new owner of Venetian Yacht club. That is what the BM there told me.

Re: Cafe On the Green
I'm getting married there February 10, 2007. I grew up in Whitestone so I've eaten there many, many times. The food is awesome and the place is just what we were looking for, nice and intimate..My parents are going to a wedding there in September.

Re: Cafe On the Green
It is a beautiful place.... and everyone seems to have wonderful things to say here but... I had two experiences with them and neither were good.
Years ago I was engaged before and I had called to make an appointment to go see the room. The woman said that they were not able to show me the room anytime soon because it was December and they had lots of events going on. I was like, 'okay -they don't want my business.' I mean how long does it take to look at a room?
Then I had gone there once for Mother's Day a few years later and had absolutely horrible service. We waited and waited to be seated - meanwhile we had made a reservation weeks in advance and left a credit card to make the reservation. We finally got seated and waited about half an hour to get our drinks - then we finally walked out. I know it was a holiday and they were very busy - but I will absolutely never go there again.
I seem to be the only exception here - but just wanted to be honest....

Re: Cafe On the Green
I absolutely love this place. I go here all the time with FH for special occasions or a romantic dinner. I wanted to have the wedding there but I was afraid that if we had the ceremony outdoors, the traffic noise would be too much. Then for a reception, since its still a restaurant it would've been a zoo. I love this place so much, I'm hoping to have the RD there or hopefully my Mom will have my shower there.

Thanks for the input.... I didn't think about the noise at the ceromony.... now that's something to consider!

I live in Whitestone also, and have been there before. I went to a x-mas party there with my work and also a baby shower last year, the food was very very yummy, the waitstaff was polite and I had a really good time. They make really good apple martinis and mimosas!!

Caffe on the Green has been owned for the last twelve years and still is by my uncle Joseph Franco Terrace on the park is owned by the people that own the Venetian
