Caiden's 1st day of Day Care...

Caiden's 1st day of Day Care...

... and my 1st day of work was yesterday. It went better than expected, but was still hard. I didn't know how much I missed him until I saw him at lunch. He slept a lot of the time at day care, then a lot of the time at home, so I hardly got to spend time with him last night. I missed a whole day of my son's life already. It's so upsetting. But it's what we have to do. I'm just so worried that he's not going to know who mommy is anymore, and that we're going to miss his 1st of everything since we don't really get to see him much. I miss my baby boy! Pumping at work was weird and uncomfortable for me, but it's something I have to get used to since I have to do it. Oh well, life goes on!

oh he knows who mommy is don't worry!!! You are doing great Melissa - I know this was hard for you, but from what I understand it gets a little easier as time goes on. You are doing the best thing for his future by working to contribute to your family's finances. Maybe it wont' have to be forever, but right now it's the necessary thing and you are being a great mommy by doing this for him!

At least you made it through the first day. Hopefully it will get easier! I'm sure within the week you will be acustomed to pumping at work!
Melissa you should make it known that you WILL see all his firsts If my staff ever tells a parent that their child preformed any firsts at Day Care I get very upset. They all know that the parents get to see first!!!

Good Luck with the rest of the week! Lunchtime isn't that far away!!

I'm glad you both survived Day #1. I can only imagine how hard it was for you. I'm glad you get to see him at lunch, that is terrific.

Melissa, I'm so glad you both survived day 1. I know it must be very hard on you, but he will never ever forget his Mommy!!

Also, I'm sure you will see all of his 'firsts' and things will get easier as time goes on. As was said above, you are doing the best thing for your son by going back to work - it may not feel that way right now, but in the future you will all be grateful that you did.
