Caiden's Baptism

Caiden's Baptism

I forgot to tell you... His baptism was on March 7th. He was baptized in the church we were married in. It was a beautiful ceremony. They did so much! There were 7 babies incl. Caiden. We all got to walk in after the guests were seated. We stood up in front of everyone while the Deacon said some words. They did a bunch of blessings and prayers. Including one with a bib with the Godmother, and a candle with the Godfather, the cross on the forehead, and when it was time to baptize him, everyone that was there for Caiden was allowed to come up to the font so they can see up close and take pictures. It was sooooo nice! The drive up wasn't so bad even though it took over 12 hours. There was an accident on 95, and then it poured the rest of the way. It usually only takes 9.5. But at least Caiden slept for the first 7 hours! He looked so handsome in his outfit. I'll post pictures when I get them. Just wanted to let you know!

That's great that everything worked out. I didn't realize you were having the Baptism in LI. I put my foot down this time and decided to have it in Buffalo....

Can't wait to see some new pics!

Re: Caiden's Baptism

The party went great! There was about 50 people. Except the girlfriend of the son of the Godparents was hitting on my DH! I wasn't there for any of it... I wish I was!!! I behaved myself. She was drunk of course and denied everything the next day. She said she didn't mean anything by it. She even tried to rub her butt on his leg. Can you believe it!!! How pathetic is that. Not a good first impression for 50 people. Let's hit on the man who's son was just baptized, and this is his party. The other sad thing about it, was she did this in front of her boyfriend and other people. It started some problems. My DH was upset because it was his close friend's girlfriend, so he felt bad for him. He recently got dumped on by his fiance. She cheated on him. Anyway, I didn't let it get to me that much. I was the bigger person. There's always some kind of drama at any event we throw. Our wedding for instance... I won't get into that one again! But everyone loved Caiden. It was funny because whenever Grandma (Dh mother) held him, he cried, but not with anyone else. Most of the people were close to got to meet him and we all enjoyed seeing each other again.

Nancy - we were going to have it in NC, but the reason we decided to have it in NY was that I really wanted him to be baptized where we were married. It meant a lot to me. I am glad we did it there. It was for us, not anyone else. I made sure of that.

Melissa-

That's good that it was for you! One thing I have learned recently is to stop going out of my way for my IL's!!!! Specially since my MIL couldn't even come to my baby shower....
