cake cutter

I asked my hall if they had a cake cutter so I didnt have to go buy onr and they said that they dont have a cutter, just a knife which the matre D guides you to use. Are you ladies using whatever the hall has or did you go buy a set?

My mom bought me ours. Try Homegoods! I sometimes see random designer name cake servers/cutters laying around for cheap.

We are just using what the hall supplies.. Same with the toasting flutes. It's one small detail we didn't really want to spend money on since it goes by so quickly and probably won't even remember what we used.

Thanks ladies. I have my toasting flutes which I got from my sister in laws for my shower which I will def. use at the wedding and years to come. As for the cake cutter, I rather use whatever the hall provides, didn't know if they are supposed to have a simple cake cutter or you use a knife to cut it. Like some of you have said, its one less thing to worry about so I'll skip this detail.

The tradition with my friends has been that we get the server set for each other. We have the names and date engraved on the server and a line from the wedding song on the knife.

Things remembered does engraving in both metal and glass!
