I have a silly question. Do we use a cake cutter and cake server for the reception ? My hall said its up to us because its only for pictures (they can supply plain ones for cutting/serving) - do I need BOTH for the pictures ? What are you ladies doing ? Thank you.

i bought my own because they only cost me $5..but i saw prices that were $30+ and thought it was absurd..cake cutting only take like max 15 minutes..use the receptions..no biggie

I'm using the plain ones provided at my RH...in the pics your hands are covering the knife handle so who even knows if its Lenox or K-mart??

We just used the ones the RH had. You can't tell in pictures, and it's not something I'd really use much again.
A lot of people like them as souvenirs of the day and get them customized and stuff. But it's totally up to you. I almost ordered some from Things Remembered but by the time the customization costs were done, I decided just to get the personalized cake topper and not a knife and server too.

We put our on our registry...if we get them we will use them if not we will use FH's parents set.

We got ours as a gift.. IMO not worth it at all, you can barely see them in the pictures and most likely the close up pic of the cutter is not going in the album

thank you ladies ! That was so helpful. I thought it would cover it too. I think we will wing it - probably ask my FMIL if we could use hers - and if not, just use the one at the hall !
