cake cutting music HELP needed!!!

fiance wants 'the bride cuts the cake' ...I think it is a cheesey song and have not heard it at a wedding in a while....I prefer U2- Sweetest Thing but he doesnt get how it works!!! Do you guys like or have you used that brides song or do you think it is cheesey. I need feedback!!! I am trying to compromise on some things our tastes are clashing a few items so I got to pick which to give in to....I need advice on this one...

I'm not a traditionalist so by nature I don't like that song!

We're most likely using Sarah McLachlan's Ice Cream song...but we're also not making a big to do over the whole thing. We wanted it to be a moment for us and our photographer - if other people happen to catch it, fine. But (as of now) I don't think we're making any announcements for it.

Good luck, compromise isn't always easy...pick your battles .

FI doesnt want to even do the cake cutting, he feels that it is a waste of time and no one even pays attention to it. And definetely not the song when I get older losing my hair. According to him. I think the song is cute.

I am using I got you babe Sonny and Cher the only Cher my Mother will get for the night - but I was thinking about Candy Girl by the Archies (very Brady Bunch) too.

We wanted to be non traditional in the cake cutting music.

We did By your Side by Sade, and it was romantic yet still fun.

My advice is Play a song that you like, you will have fond memories of it when you hear it afterwards.
Everytime I hear By your Side, I think about my cake cutting and smile. I wouldn't change a thing.

We used 'Cut the Cake' by Average White Band. Its funk/soul music so its really upbeat. We were bopping around while cutting the cake.

Some of the most popular ones I've seen are:

When I’m 64 – Beatles
Sugar, Sugar (Candy Girl) – The Archies
That’s Amore – Dean Martin
Love and Marriage – Frank Sinatra

They're all very upbeat songs which I think is good for the cake cutting after everyone's had to listen to like 5 slow songs while the Bride, Groom and families all danced in the beginning. But, like some other people said, that song might be the one people pay attention to the least. Good luck!

Nothing at all. I like the song. For some reason my FI doesnt like it. I think he thinks it is silly. I dont know,
