Cake dilemma/rant about RH!!!

Ok so as many of you know I have been having some issues with my RH...well I haven't had time to write about the latest mess but here goes...

We went for our appt a few weeks ago to discuss all the food and what not. Now when I orginally booked I had a picture of the cake(in my inspirations album) that I wanted and it was kinda the inspiration for my Blk wht and red theme...I brought it in and showed the guy and he said that it would be an upcharge and that most of there upcharges are around $350...ok no biggie I thought mabey the cake would be like $500 extra cool right WELLLLLL...at the appt I am told that my cake would be and additional....wait for it....$1600.00 yes $1600.00 !!! ***!! Are you kidding me!! I could go to Carlo's bakery and have Buddy make me a cake for that much!! I mean holy efffff people...so now I am pissed, I cant have my cake made somewhere else which is what I would do but they only deal with thier own vendor, who we later called BTW and even they said that seems high but it is all Lombardi's pricing not theirs. This is ridiculous and I feel totaly blackballed or whatever!! I am now getting a cake that they are still upcharging me $350 for (and thier menus because I cant use the ones I had made you have to use thiers). On top of all of this the only table cloths the have in white are the ones from thier reaturant and the have to double up these plain ugly a** table cloths bec they dont fit!!!! The ones they use for the catering ONLY come in Ivory which really looks champagne and against a black and white runner look like crap!!! I am soooooo over my RH and the crap they are Pulling!! The cake is just ridiculous and I could care less if there is even a cake at this point. I am so mad at them!!

I would ask them for a break down of charges on how they assume a cake would cost that much? are the charging per dot on each design? what the eff!

I had similar issues! I got married at Lombardi's on the Bay

first, Im sorry that you are using their menus, I fought that tooth and nail and I had my own menus made, I had to have them proof read them.

Who are you speaking to about the cake? Lombardis or Rolling pin?

I had cake issues as well...I spoke to Rolling Pin and basically told them that I wanted to use them but not at the overpriced numbers LOB was giving me...when I went back to LOB, magically the cake I wanted was at a much more affordable number

I dont know about the sound, but at LOB, you can use an outside vendor for cake- and im pretty sure all lombardis locations work the same

Yup it is rolling pin and unforturtunately LOS does not allow any outside vendors. I did call Rolling pin and they said it sounded very high but that was up to Lombardi's not them. When I called LOS on the sound they sill wouldn't budge. As for the menus, they were going to possibly make an exception but I would have to pay an extra $1.50 per menu on top of the $350 upcharge that would have included thier menus. I said no way just give me yours since I already paying the cake upcharge and I am NOT paying you people a penny more to drop menus I already paid for on the tables... they are killing me!

do you have a DOC that can put them on the tables for you? are they charging you for the service fo placing them on the table or for deviating from their stationary? that just sounds ridiculous!
