Lynn at Fantastique Sweet Boutique in Brightwaters is doing my cake. We got to sample some this weekend and they were fabulous.
My question is - i think we will have chocolate mousse but the vanilla with lemon was amazing too. Do people like lemon though? If we did both - how does it work - do some get chocolate and some vanilla with lemon or does everyone get a little of each?

We are having lemon too - it tasted so good and its very light for the summer. We picked vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and lemon jam.

I wouldn't do lemon, since I think many people do not necessarily like it . . . JMO, although it IS great for summer . . .
I don't think people get to pick, and I don't think they will give everyone a little of each automatically- that is a good question to ask your catering hall, since they are the ones who will be distributing your cake . . . I am sure they will honor specific requests . . .

I love lemon; FH hates lemon. There are some people that hate chocolate. () Just pick the cake you like the best. People have so many differnt tastes. There will always be someone who doesn't like it. It's your wedding. Choose the one you like the best.
In my experience, when you do two different flavors, the CH usually just hand them out randomly. Sometimes they'll give the same flavor to a whole table.

Everyone has different taste - I for one, HATE chocolate (I know I know - i'm a woman from another planet!) - So go w/ what you like -

I agree with thiadora. Everyone has different tastes. You will have people that don't like lemon and some that don't like chocolate mousse. You should have whatever you like, it's your day. You will never be able to please everyone.

Ours was lemon and chocolate with a yellow cake - I had asked if we could do one tier lemon, one chocolate, but they told me that it's usually easier to have both in each slice - so like, each tier had three layers with lemon between one and chocolate between the other - I LOVE lemon so I decided to go with it and I thought it was wonderful. And if someone didn't like lemon (or chocolate for that matter) they could just not eat that part.

I am a big chocolate fan, so that is what i would pick myself. . The vanilla lemon and chocolate mousse combo sounds good. I don't know how that works but it sounds like a great idea!

I'm big on chocolate so that would be my pick but lemon w/vanilla sounds yummy too. It doesn't matter which you pick some people will like it some won't. You can't please everyone so go with your favorite!
