Cake help!!!
Has anyone used Rolling Pin or Black Forest Bakery and if so, any feedback or recommendations on either?? My venue includes my cake and I have to choose between one of these bakeries. Aside from the fact that both seem to taste good, I've seen mixed reviews for both and I'm not sure which one to go with! I don't need a specially customized cake or anything (although I do have a special cake topper)... I just need something that tastes good, is what I ordered with no surprises and is a vendor that I don't have to stress about! Thx ladies for your help!

My friend used BF for his wedding, however this was when gay marriage just got passed so it was an at home back yard party and only a 2 tier cake! But so good!!! Very pretty! However dont use black icing......it stained everyone's teeth, tongue and lips. We all had a good laugh about it but partly bc it wasn't a formal reception!! I went to check them out for my parents anniversary party cake but they were too expensive for me.

I actually just moved into Lindenhurst and Black Forest was one of the first bakeries that I tried in this area because it came so highly recommended. I had some type of chocolate cake and it was really good! You also can probably go in to both for tastings and make your decision based on that.

Check out Sweet Peace Bakery in Lynbrook. Without knowing at the time, my cousin used them for her cupcakes for her wedding. It was seriously the most insanely delicious cupcake I had ever tasted in my life. That's one thing I remember most about her wedding lol. Little did I know, Bridgeview's house bakery is the same one! I am beyond excited. Check out their reviews on Yelp. (I love to bake and I know a good bakery when I try one) DEFINITELY check them out!

I did our RD cake from Rolling Pin. I surprised DH with a Batman cake and it looked and tasted amazing. We did chocolate with canoli cream filling with chocolate chips.

Definitely Black Forest!! My family has been using them for years and practically all of my birthday cakes have come from them! I am SO excited that they are the bakery for my venue!

I used Black Forest for my cake and they were AMAZING. Everyone is still raving about the cake.. The tasting was wonderful and the saleswoman spent so much time with us going over every single thing we wanted. The nice thing was, they had a book of what was included in the price from the CH than they also had a book with prices of what would be an upcharge. I went with what was included and certainly was not disappointed at all.

Rolling Pin was at a bridal expo I went to two weeks ago.. I tried their cupcakes, I was not impressed. I'm going with Alpine Bakery in Smithtown.

I went to the Bourne mansions bridal expo yesterday with my bm, she is getting married there, anyway both black forest and rolling pin were there, ssince I've had BF before and my bm picked RP I wanted to try it cake was very moist and icing was good. There was too much icing to eat the cupcake and not make a mess lol but it was very good! Having had both places I really don't think u could go wrong!!
