Cake Help/question

i saw a cake recently that i really loved and now i cant find it again!!

it had a quilt like design and it was square i think. i found this one pic that is sort of similar. can anyone help me find the square one?

also has anyone had this design? do you think it can be done on buttercream?

i found one that is sq with every other layer quilted....its probably not exactly what you are looking for but it might help a little...

I'm not sure if it can be done with buttercream......I'm inclined to say no, but then again, what do I know, lol.

you won't get that same effect in buttercream-- it has to be fondant for that effect-- the buttercream will just look like lines. It's the fondant that has that fabric look--

there are some pics of cakes in my album that have both fondant and buttercream that you can see the difference-- buttercream is more flat.

here's one that has both- the see how the flag looks like fabric but the camo looks flat? That's what i mean

So is completely impossible to get any kind of design into whipped cream?? Can you have a cake with whipped cream?

I know exactly what I want but can't find a picture of it either and it is driving me nuts.

Any good websites out there with pictures?
