cake meeting last night...

FH and I met with Jay from Cakes by Jay last night and we are 95% booking with him!! He had samples for us and his cakes are sooo good! Im in love with his buttercreams! He was very nice and very accomodating! We are super excited!!! I am sucha cake person!!!

Yummy. Cake tasting is always fun. Good to hear your almost done booking the baker.

Well we had wanted key lime and all the other bakers couldn't accomodate it and we really didn't understand why- we just wanted a key lime flavor. And Jay knew right away what we wanted when we said it- so he added key lime flavor to his buttercream and used it with a yellow pound cake and it was awesome!!! So we are using that flavor- and he said we are going to try it at our next meeting with a raspberry flavor and see if we like it that way.
And then he brought out his other popular flavors and we decided on carrot cake for our top tier which is the one we take home- we figure we will eat it when we get back from our honeymoon rather than waiting a year cus that grosses me out!
And then for the other 2 tiers we havn't choen a flavor yet. he wrote down some other ones that he is going to make up for us when we go to make our down payment. So we get to try more cake!!! Hahaha I prolly gained 5 pounds last night!
And the best part is that FH's sister and her FH brought back a cake that was a tiny version of their wedding cake so I ate a piece of that too!

OMG YOu're making me hungry for cake. That sound amazing, all those flavors. NEver had key lime before so not sure what it taste like but it sounds yummy. And if you keep the cake frozen in the freezer, I dont think it will be that gross to eat it after.

And when you eat cake you dont think about the gizzilion lbs u gain at the time.

that's so great to hear! I'm pretty sure cakes by jay is who my RH uses!! We get a cake with our package but i was told if we wanted to upgrade we could go talk with him. I've heard mixed reviews and it's great to hear that you had such a good experience!!!! congrats.. and thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMGGGGGGGGGG I think I may have to make Jay my new best friend, look at these:

yea they are really beautiful!! that's why i was surprised when i saw on a previous post that there were bad reviews.. that some had been pulled from the boards. I freaked out a little since it's RH's baker..lmao. But those cakes look amazing!!!! Def. beautiful!!! I'm excited to go meet with them now

Really bad reviews???? thats weird, it doesnt look like they would have any. You are lucky that its your RH recomm baker, NICE!!!!!!!!!!!
