Cake Question

Our cake is coming from the reception hall..... when do we pick it? When we go for the tasting? Our wedding is two months from today!! But I haven't heard from the Milleridge Inn to set up a tasting - when should I panic and call them?

Re: Cake Question

Dont panic If you are not sure about something just give them a call. Remember you are the client.

Re: Cake Question

I set up my own appointment with the baker for my hall, but when I went in to pick my menu, they asked about the cake then...

Re: Cake Question

I am using GW Manor which is the sister place to Milleredge Inn. Milleredge bakery does all of GW's baked goods. I have had their cookies(the baker gave me a lot to take home when I stopped in to speak to him about the cake design) and those were really good. I have had his baked bread loaves which are heavenly.I don't remember them saying they did a cake tasting but you may want to go to the bakery yourself and tell them they are doing the cake for your wedding and you would like to taste something. They will show you pics of cakes and explain the different fillings. Im having my wedding this Sunday so when I do my review Ill let you know how the cake was .

Here is a pic of our cake from the Milleridge--I can remember not being happy with their pictures --so I brought them pics of the cake I wanted and they made it perfectly

Re: Cake Question

The Port Jeff Country Club gave me the name of 2 bakeries to choose my cake from (they are paying for it). I went to one of them yesterday, they said to come back about 4 - 6 weeks before the wedding to pick out what I want. Hope that helps.

Re: Cake Question

If you want to taste the cake why not order the exact one in a small version from the milleridge bakery. You will be very pleased this I am sure of because my Fiance is the cake decorator there! good luck!!
