For those girls who's halls give them a free cake but got one from an outside bakery, did your hall give you something else instead? Did you have to negotiate with them or did they just throw something else in for free?

Re: Cake question
yeah they threw in about 2 or 3 extra stations for us at CH. We were also able to pick what we wanted from the sheet of choices they gave us.
I didnt have to ask either. At my final menu meeting when i went and they asked me to pick out what cake i want, i said i already got a cake from an outside vendor and they said ok thats fine. And then she brought it up and said well then we can throw in extra stuff at CH for you.

Re: Cake question
CB is going to give me a credit taken off when i make my final payment. I had to request this from the manager my banquet manger was trying to tell me at first that nothing can done. But I was not having that.

well dont think that i didnt get a cake through them bc i didnt like their cakes, dont want to knock dortoni's which is who they use. ALOT of girls on here have used them and love them and they do have delicious cakes. DH and I were both set on having a madhatter cake. I didnt see any previous madhatter cakes dortoni's did so didnt want to take a chance with that design. Only bc ive seen other good places try to recreate it and comes out to lopsided or weird looking. So i went to a person who has done quite a few madhatter cakes in the past and did it very well. But otherwise i do know dortoni's does make great cakes so depends on what you want.
