What r some questions I should ask the bakery that I plan on purchasing my wedding cake from? I dont know if there is already a thread..if so can someone bump it? TIA

when will they bake the cake?
Some places bake it overnight (and the cake is fresh) and decorate it early in the morning, and others bake it on tuesday for a sat wedding, and keep it in the frige. They pull it out everyday and decorate it a bit each day. The cake frequently tastes stale.
Also taste test cakes with the fillings you're considering.

I just asked about the process of making the cake (like the timeline and whatever). We talked about differences in frosting (like buttercream vs. fondant), and different flowers that we might use (sugar vs. real vs. paste). I also asked her what would happen if (god forbid) something happened and she couldn't make the cake herself....
I asked about a contract, deposit, and when the payment was due.
Ask about setting up the cake (might have fees) and possible delivery fees.

Thanks girls!! All info. was very helpful. Its funny because I think the whole cake thing is going to be the biggest pain in the butt for me...
