If i have a cake stand like this for my cake, does anyone know if it would be able to hold a 3 or 4 tier wedding cake? Has anyone used a cake stand like this for their cake. My very good friend from work bought this for me and i want to so use it.
Send it to your Banquet Manager. Honestly, I've never seen a wedding cake on a stand like that, I've seen them on the siver base (wider and support all arround the circumference)...your BM would know better than I.

Re: Cake stand question
Yea.. usually they use the ones with support on the ends and not in just in the middle.
Have you picked out your cake yet? You should really ask the person who is making the cake for you.

You can use it at your shower!
Honestly, I think it will not withstand a cake beyond 2 tiers, the base isn't wide enough. A 2 tier would be fine on something like this. You can still use it AND you will use it to entertain- you'll get lots of use out of it.

Re: Cake stand question
Yea I'm really thinking about this and picturing it.
I think the problem isn't holding the weight of the cake... so much as tipping over when you attempt to cut into it.
I think the shower idea is EXCELLENT!!! You should be able to use it then because that cake should be much smaller. If not... holiday and birthdays!
I sorry hun!
