cake tasting

I was a little crazy with mine. . . I asked them for yellow cake and then I asked them for a few different fillings to taste.

I think I am going to end up getting rasberry mousse and chocolate mousse alternating layers with the cake.

I did mine at a bakery with my RH, I dont know if it's gonna be diff with urs.

We got vanilla cake with vanilla custard filling! We tried the chocolate filling and didn't like it.

We're having a viennese hour as well so i'm not too worried about everyone else loving the cake -- I know we will!!!

I had a different flavor for every layer. I did just a plain marble, banana, cheery chip, and red velvet. It was yummy and there was something for everyone!

we are going for our cake tasting next week....we are tasting:

chocolate ganache cake with dark chocolate hazelnut mousse filling

and

white chocolate almond cake with dark chocolate mousse filling


I dont think there is a standard cake...I don't think I ever had the same type of cake at all the weddings I have gone too...although I think the white or yellow cake is most common but as far as fillings the sky is the limit!

we decided to go with red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting...

my fh hates buttercream so the red velvet was an easy choice for us....

if you want to go with a chocolate ... chocolate cake with raspberry filling is always yummy !!!

We tasted a bunch. I liked Core de la Creme and Raspberry Mousse but apparently everyone else thought both fillings were two sweet. We are going with Chocolate Mouse and regular raspberry filling.

Its a yummy combo though.

There are so many options and I have seen everything at weddings. Canoli filling, hazlenut filling, peanut butter icing... its your wedding, anything goes.

Though if there is nuts in it you should warn people in case of allergies. My friend did an almond flavored cake so she had signs out to warn her guests.
