I'm about to start setting up cake appointments, and my future brother-in-law is a total cake addict. I'd love for him to come with us if there would be a tasting. That's why I was wondering if those of you who had experience knew if the first appointment when you first talk to different bakers is when you have a tasting. Or is that after you sign a contract?
Just as a reference, my venue does not provide the cake so I'll be going to about two or three bakers to interview them.
Thanks!

Cake Tastings
I am pretty sure you don't taste the first time you go- mine is through my hall, but we go for an initial meeting to talk about what design i want and stuff and then we pick like 3 or 4 flavor combos and go back to try them

My bakery is through our hall. We tasted first, told them which one we liked and then designed the cake based on my vision.

We're getting our cake through the hall. We haven't gone for the tasting yet, but the BM at our hall said we taste and try to do everything in one visit unless I requested another.
