Cake topper

Cake topper

Do I have to have one? I am having 2 cakes. The one from RH will have flowers on it. The other cake will be made by my aunt & will be decorated however I ask her to do it ( i have not decided on how I want it yet, but it will be simple.)

I was going to get a cake topper for this cake, but I don't see anything that I like, or if I do like it I refuse to pay $$$ for it. With less than 4 weeks to go, I just don't care anymore....

I don't think you need it - if you feel it needs something, maybe get some extra flowers that match the ones on the RH cake and put those on it - but really I don't think it would be a big deal to do without

Re: Cake topper

well i am doing the same thing as you. We will have 2 cakes...the one that the RH gives us, to serve to the guest and my guyanese rum cake. The cake topper isnt really necessary, escically if you're going to have flower or soemthing on top of the cake.....we baught or cake topper before i chose my rum cake (which will have flowers on the top tier), so our cake toppper is going to sit next to the cake on the table. Since you only have les than 1 month left till your wedding, i say why give your self another headache!!!! foreget about the topper if you don't need it.

If your having flowers on top, I wouldn't worry about it. I've seen dozens of BEAUTIFUL cakes with just flowers and no topper.

Re: Cake topper

Only the cake from the RH will have flowers, the 2nd cake will not. That is why I was getting a topper for it. but now I just don't want to be bothered with it.

I don't think you need one. Mine is going next to the cake not on top. Not every1 uses them anymore.

Re: Cake topper

I will not be using a cake topper. My SIL bought me what I wanted to us as my cake topper (or at least to put on the cake table)---the Lladro 'The Happiest Day' figurine but I changed my mind because I don't know what I would do if something happened to it.

I think it is fine to decorate with flowers. I am personally not using a cake topper - to me it was just another expense on my ever expanding budget!

Re: Cake topper

I bought a pretty cheap cake topper from bridalpeople.com - I thought it was adorable and nicely done. They have a lot of nice stuff on there :)

Re: Cake topper

You don't need one unless you really want it. If your cakes are decorated already, your topper will most likely sit on the table....like mine. But if you don't need it, and don't want the extra expense, don't get it. It's really up to you.

I'm still looking for one.. and getting really sik of not finding the perfect one. most of them look plastic and silly these days.. i cant afford to have the florist decorate the cake bc its extra money.. so I don;t know wat im gonna do either! and the wedding is in 3 weeks

Re: Cake topper

I used flowers.....my cake topper sat on my table....so you def. don't need one, especially if you can't find one you don't like!

YOu dont have to have one if you dont want one. We bought one but it went in front of the cake on the table. I just liked the statue really

Re: Cake topper

No you really don't need a cake topper. Especially if you're having flowers on the cake or SOME type of decoration, or it's already an ornate-looking cake.
But I do regret the fact that I did NOTHING to decorate my cake.. it looked so plain! Oh well, I really don't care much, even now!
