I think so ... I have a ruler right next to me, and 3' looks small. Maybe 4-5' would be better ...

I agree, but it also depends on the size of your cake...I mean it might look small on a 4-5 tier but ok on a 2-3

Depends on the size of the first layer- if you are doing a teeny layer on top of the cake it will be ok- just has to be in proportion- my cake topper is 5 inches- the bakery helped me determine what size to get hth
