Me and the FH were talking last night about cake toppers and got into an argument. I love the funny cake toppers with the bride dragging the groom or the groom with the ball and chain on his leg. He says its trashy and wouldnt want it. Now mind you the too of us are not serious people at all. All we do is joke around. I said it would be cute to lighten up the mood a bit. There was even a cute one with the bride dragging a groom dressed in camo (FH is in the army). What do you guys think?? Also he wants bagpipers and I dont because bagpipes make me think funeral. Grrrr,

That's funny because FH and I have had the same conversation! I always wanted that cake topper but he thinks its stupid. He is the 'funny one' in the relationship too. He's always joking around so I thought he would love it.

Yeah I couldnt believe he was against it. All of a sudden hes mister serious and classy. there was one he was okay with that I think is too boring. He likes it cause its sneaky lol. Here its this one:

i can understand him not wanting the funny cake topper, maybe u could get it and put it next to the cake on the cake table, but have a simple tradiational one of the cake.
I also hateeee bag pipers... to me the are also` remind me of a funeral..jmo

Ill just sneak the funny one on when he's not looking lol. A normal one just doesnt suit us or our families. Im so shocked that he was against it. Yeah the bag piper thing is gonna annoy me but Im probably gonna agree to it since he hasnt asked for much and hes paying lol.

I had a custom topper made of DH and I . We look like cartoon characters and we also had one made of our dog. pictures are in my album

Idk I wouldn't sneak it. I know that would piss me off...idk... I would keep looking there are ALOT out there maybe you can compromise.

maybe u can get the cake topper and just put it on the table next to the cake. thats what i am doing. i will have the monogram on top of the cake and then the funny topper next to it.
my cousin did it at her wedding bc her cake topper was too heavy it was some porcelin lenox precious moments mickey minnie... u get the idea.
good compromise???

my mom bought that for us when we first got engaged and i too dont think its classy sooo to please her, i think ill use if for the bridal shower instead

Yeah Ill talk it over with him. I dont like the monogram ones so if we dont go with the funny one then Ill just have flowers on the top or nothing at all. Or we'll just go for a run of the mill one. If you knew him though you would never think he'd be against it.

FH is the funny one (as he terms it 'the funniest man alive' sure buddy...) and he wanted the silly cake topper at first but I convinced him otherwise. I ended up just getting a large letter with swarovski crystals. He got over it once I said to him, our cake is gonna be beautiful...don't screw it up!
