Cake Topper (Lenox) Concerned about the weight? Help need advice?

I found a Lenox cake topper I like, it's called the First Dance, but I'm concerned with the weight of it? I feel it may go thru the first tear? Has anyone used this one or any made of porcaline? I've seen a few pictures here where brides have the topper on the table, next to the cake?? So I was wondering if the reason for that is that it weighs too much??

Not sure about the Lenox one, but my SIL had the Waterford one and it was so heavy that it took off the back of her cake!

my fortunoff one fell off my cake & ruined the top & a piece of the back, I had to laugh at it though.

You can always put flowers on the top and put the topper in front of the cake. Jen's own was heavy.

Not sure how it was done but my fsil had a lladro like I am going to have and she had a platform built into the cake. It held fine.

I have a similar one. I plan on just asking the baker when I meet him what he thinks I should do and maybe he can put it into the cake on a fake tier or something. Or perhaps look into some sort of 'stage' so that the weight is evenly distributed.

MFSIL had one, and kept it infront of the cake the whole night until cutting time and then put it ontop

It can be done, but you have to be very careful. My cake topper was extremely heavy, but my sister was very cautious about how she put it on, and it stayed on throughout the reception just perfect.
She didnt put it directly on the cake, she put a plate there first to stabalize it, then put the cake topper on it. I think she even put something to hold it there. I can ask her.

My best friend has the same lenox one you have... they put it on the cake for the pictures, and then took it off again really quickly because it was falling off! But at least they got some pictures with it.

Ours was going to be too heavy, so we had a big bow on top of the cake (holiday wedding) and I actually had 2 cake toppers so we had them on either side. Ours were the Enesco 'Circle of Life' series.

my parents bought us an armani bride & groom cake topper...it's pretty heavy so since it was pretty $$$$ i will prob. put it in front of our cake & have flowers decorate the top layer....
if it fell off the cake...i would be so upset...
