I thought we didnt have to order it until a month or 2 before teh wedding......is that wrong? I have no idea what I want the cake to look like. I know I want it classic looking

i think thats what my RH told me that i have plenty of time to order it... but i'm nervous it won't be enough time if we want something crazy!!

What crazy cake are you looking for? I think if you were doing a grooms cake I would go earlier to get the order in

Hmm I don't know, we're getting it through our RH so it's not going to be anything crazy. And I probably won't order it until they tell us to.
So we'll probably be getting something somewhat simple like this:
But if I can convince FH to add a cake upgrade I want something like this.

FH's last name is Fischer and i always refer to him as my fish so we want to do something with rock candy and make it like a 'reef' and have little fish in it and two fish on top as cake toppers. but i don't think that would be covered in the cake we get from our RH. if anything we can get credit towards a cake but i don't want to go TOO crazy... i really want to do a groom's cake for him too. we'll see!

Haha that is crazy but soo cute. Call your RH and see when you can order the cake esp if you are looking for something with more detail

if you are getting a cake through RH, when you do your final meeting you can decide on the cake. If you want an upgrade but still through the bakery your RH uses then do call them about this and find out when to go.
If you go to an outside baker then go a few months before bc some book up. I went about 3-4 months before my wedding when i booked an outside vendor
