My reception hall includes a cake from Audrey's Bakery.
Do I need to contact them or anything?
Well I know I will eventually, but how far in advance do people order cakes?
I already know what I want - the design and flavor and everything lol
So what do you ladies think? Like 6 months in advance? Less/More?

my RH also includes the cake I am going to wait till my next payment is due then Im going to ask them how far in advance.

I would probably let them know 6 to 8 months in advance. Just so they know they have a wedding cake to prepare and not give you any hassel later on.

ditto. My next payment is due in March so I am going to ask them how I go about setting up the appt for the cake and everything (along with the bazillion other question I have for them regarding the reception lol).

when you have your menu appt with FF yougo over the cake. You actually never meet with the bakery at all...
just make sure you have enough flavors and fillings......
four tiers (top for you) each tier has room for two fillings, like a mousse and a fruit or a cream etc

I think 6 months in advance would be very early.
My cake was included with the RH. About 2 months before the wedding, DH and I met with the BM to go over the menu. At that meeting, we decided what flavor we wanted the cake to be, but we didn't need to finalize the design until 2 weeks before the wedding.
