Cakes by My Mom...........

With all the talk about cakes, and me thinking about my Mom, I decided to share a little bit of her talent.

As you may know, she made this cake, and my sis is going to duplicate if for me

All I can say is WOW Was this her living..and sis too? If your sister can duplicate these then you have a VERY talented family!!

Mom did do it for a living (Mom passed 2 years ago) so my sis is going to duplicate the 1st one for me, I love her for doing it
Sis doesnt do it for a living, but she knows how, my Mom showed her, and she has the talent too, but will only do it for me

Hee hee, growing up with her making these, especially in the summer, every single Saturday she had a wedding to do, I think we took it for granted how talented she was, b/c we were so used to it. Now, with the wedding planning, I'm realizing not too many bakeries can make them like this

Oh, yeah Marcela, these are just a few pics I happenned to have, she has a few albums full of all the cakes she's made, gorgeous !!!!
I'm so proud of her

Liz, is there a reason you chose that particular cake for your sis to duplicate. Your mom's work is awesome.

I don't want to freak anyone out, but. . . .
after my Mom passed, my sister found these pics in her drawer. . . There are about 10 pics of the same cake, but the rest are very close up, showing each and every detail in the cake.
My Sis thinks my Mom wanted me to have this cake. She thought she would never make another cake b/c it hurts to much to think of my Mom, but she now feels it was meant to be.
Look - it's silver and white, except the silver on the cake looks more platinum. Hmmmm......................
Also, just a week ago, my Dad found all the pieces used in this cake safely hidden away in the basement, apart from all my Mom's other cake supplies. He thinks she was saving them for my wedding.
You just gotta believe. . . .
