So the dictionary describes caliber as - a degree or grade of excellence or worth.
I was watching bridezilla (new season, 3rd episode) last night and was totally taken aback by the wedding with the bride in Houston TX. (Image below). Now I know I shouldn't be the one to judge, but almost everything about her wedding was a hot mess!
(good thing she's a texas bride...so she shouldn't be on this website!)
I'm sure that some people have probably never planned any type of event before their wedding (and that's totally fine) but there just has to be a certain level of caliber to how you do things in general.
So I guess what I'm asking is, what would you describe the look and feel of your wedding? Is there anything specific that you're doing to make that happen?
forgot to put this in the post. and i really hope that the post didn't offend anyone so let me just clear up some loose ends:
I think that no matter how 'big' an event is- whether it's a dinner reception at home for five people or a 'platinum wedding', there is a level of caliber, per se, of doing things to make it classy and in good taste.
alright! that's much better. I didn't want to seem like a bride-basher!

I absolutely agree that the bridezilla was a hot mess and i just love how she was rolling her eyes during her own ceremony-that was ridiculous

Re: Caliber
That entire production was a mess and a half!!!!!!! From the boob hanging out, to the lack of respect from the bridal party, to the bride herself, lol!

Re: Caliber
Well for starters, i have chosen a hall that doesn't really need decorating. I have been to weddings where they rented everything down to the metal chair you were sitting on, not saying that this is trashy but I personally don't envision this for my day. Also, I think that the more you personalize your wedding (without overdoing it) the more elegant it may appear. For my wedding I am just looking to achieve a nice balance for example, i love high centerpieces but now i am thinking i shouldn't get them plus I am having about 100 guests, especially if I am DIY-ing they might come out looking a bit gaudy or overdone. One good thing is that I have a MOH that isn't afraid to tell me NO. Hope I didn't offend anyone...

Re: Caliber
I guess I should have answered the question
I guess it kind of goes with my last post, but you could have your wedding anywhere.....in a tent or at 5 star hotel; thats not what gives it 'class'. The thing that gives it class are the people involved. I think when the people involved (the Bride, the BP, etc. ) have c r a p p y attitudes like on that show, all of the other bad & tacky stuff around them is magnified. You could have a million dollar wedding and it could be the trashiest wedding ever if the attitudes are wrong.
So.....to answer the question, I'm just going to make sure that I surround myself with respectful people on my wedding day
