California Recomendations....

California Recomendations....

I am staying in Cali for a night (night one of our HM) and I've never been there before. We should be arriving early in the morning and won't be leaving until midnight of the following day... so we will be there for about 35 hours... and I wanted to do things; or as much as we could in that time.

We will be arriving in LAX... so in the hollywood area.

I need a hotel and also things to do. ANY suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!!

Manhattan Beach is a really nice area south of LAX that you could stay in (cute restaurants / bars)...you could drive up to Santa Monica along the coast and stop at Venice Beach along the way. You could go to Hollywood to see some stars on the Walk of Fame but probably wouldn't need to spend much time there.

I think you can also go horseback riding in Hollywood Hills! but that can be painful...haha.

We did walk of fame, it wasn't what I expected and we did it very quick.

I can send you my album from our CA trip last year if you want to see pics of the areas.

I would skip Universal, you won't be in LA long enough.

Go to Spago for dinner and walk on Rodeo Drive. Drive up and find the Hollywood sign.

I think we will do Santa Monica! A few people recomended SM.

Is that a cab ride from the LAX airport? Is it a far ride?

Thanks so much for the info!!

Not a far ride. We loved it.

I think you could also rent a car really cheap, do it through priceline or something like that.

Girl number 1-you BETTER go shopping on Robertson Blvd!!!! And you can lunch at the Ivy, which is on Robertson also. You and your FH will love it.

It's some major L.A. shopping, and there are paparazzi everywhere!

Hotels-Supposedly the Sofitel, The Standard, The London, and the Roosevelt are pretty great. For work trips I've stayed at the Luxe (on Rodeo Drive), Beverly Hilton, and Regent Beverly Wilshire. All 3 are great, but are in Beverly Hills.

if you want to stay in the santa monica area def check out The Viceroy, Shutters on the Beach, and The Loews . they are great hotels .. :)

If you want to be around near teh sunset strip def stay in west hollywood area.. The Chamberlain, Le Montrose, The London, and Le parc are all Suite boutique hotels.. Soooo cute and cozy.. youll love it there.. def affordable cause it can get pricey..

Also a lot of my clients like The Andaz west Hollywood .. and the Renaissance hotel in Hollywood... the hollywood Roosevelt is always happening.. good luck in your search.. I get special rates with some of these hotels so If you need any help I would be happy to look into it for you!!! LA is my old stomping grounds!!! LOL

Spago is Wolfgang Puck's place - pretty fancy/pricy, but REALLY good. We actually met him when we were there!

I think the places you are talking about are not geographically close, it might be worth the $40 to rent a car, then take cabs.

FM me your email and I will send you my album from the trip.

You could go shopping on Rodeo Drive, visit Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor, Universal Studios or head to the beach.
