OK - My dress came in and I went to try it on today (pics to follow soon)!!! It fits me perfectly!!! All I need is the hem taken up. I am nt happy with my 'Back Fat' - I don't like the fat that I see sticking out over the top of the dress in the back!! Is there anything I can do? I know I can't really spot-tone - but any advice would be appreciated. Currently - I go to Curves 3-4 times a week for the past two months. TIA!!!
try increasing your cardio a bit, I know Curves is a circuit training try to do more than that. Also you are correct about spot training but you can do seated rows, bent over rows, pull ups, and things of that nature to help along the way

Pretty much what lilqtny said - make sure you're doing enough cardio - 30 minutes 4-5 times a week. Definately work on increasing your back strength and decreasing your overall body fat. Don't forget your eating - don't blow all your hard work at the gym with bad eating habits.
You have plenty of time to lose that back fat - just stick with working out and you'll be fine!

I find push-ups helpful.

Please explain - is that when you are sitting down and lifting barbells? I need anything, and everything that is going to slim down my upper body - because I look very top heavy in my dress!
The bent over row goes something like this............put your left knee on a bench and keep your right leg straight bend over at the hips and let your right arm hang down by your right knee. lift a barbell straight up so that your elbow is parallel with your shoulder. Repeat on the other side, very hard to understand that but you can get pics online, I am late for work now so I will try to post for yo u later some websites that have pictures okay sweetie? good luck, you can search google if you want it sooner for bent over row, seated row, or just plain back exercises!!!!

You need to diet and exercise. Do cardio and weight trainning at least 4 days per week. Weight train your entire body , not just your back. You cannot spot reduce. Adding muscle all over and doing cardio will get rid of fat all over, including your back.
If you weight train just your back, your metabolism will only go up a little.

Re: Call All PersonalTrainers/Exercise Buffs!
My trainer has me do these :
5 lb weights in each hand. Bend over forward just a bit at the waist. Feet shoulder width apart. Don't curve your back. Weights are in front of thighs. Pull them up to you like you're pulling a rope. When you pull up, make it like you are trying to touch your shoulder blades together. Tighten the abs while doing this.
3 reps of 12. Rest 1 min in between.
Also, if you have a step thing, lie on the step thing and put arms out on each side with the 5 lb weights. Arms extended and abs tight, bring over your head. 3 reps of 12.
Those are the only ones I can think of with free weights.

That is the part I forget. I go to the gym at least 3-4 times a week. But, I eat like a little pig I get so mad sometimes at myself. Like right now I am hungry!!!
