A bustle is when they tack up your train so you don't trip all over it. I think that's it

no, not at all. your seamstress will put buttons or loops n the back of your dress so that it can be bustled after your ceremony. i have a zip-up with 'fake' buttons, and that is definitely not what they use to make the bustle. HTH!

The bustle is the actual train of the dress being brought up from dragging

Here are 2 pics of my dress down with train

And bustled: (basically tacking up the train so you can walk around and dance like a normal person and people don't step on your gown)

PS - as for your other question, your seamstress may be able to create fake buttons to cover the zipper if you don't like it - it never hurts to ask!
