Calligrapher??

Calligrapher??

I can't decide if want a calligrapher to do my envelopes or if I should just print them myself. I have a decent printer, so hopefully that won't be problem.

Can anyone recommend a calligrapher in Suffolk County? What do they run?

Re: Calligrapher??

Some girls have paid anywhere from $1.10 to $4.00 each envelope depending on the caligrapher and the font style That's too much money for us to spend, so we are printing them ourselves onto labels and I handwrote the inside envelope.

I hand wrote everything. I couldn't see paying for a calligrapher and I don't like the way labels look on invitations, JMO.

I paid $1.80 for both the outer and inner envelopes.

I used Artisitc Addressing. They're in upstate NY, so I mailed my envelopes to them directly.

They are now done and I should have them in a day or so. I can not wait!

I used Melaine from a fine letter. She did an amazing job and you can not beat her price. I had her do fine penmanship not calligraphy. She charges .25 cents for each outer and inner. She has beautiful handwriting. I highly recommend her. Here is her site.http://www.afineletter.com/

ETA: I just saw on her site she is closed until after July 2005. Sorry

Re: Calligrapher??

We're paying $3.00/invite for a calligrapher through Lion in the Sun (don't know her name yet, sorry)...it was additional money b/c we want the calligraphy to be in a champagne color (same color as the font on the invite) and the same font as on the invite. We did choose, however, a very formal invite. If you're invites aren't very formal then you probably don't need calligraphy. Personally I feel the presentation of the invite is very important b/c it says a lot about the upcoming event.

wow-I have never heard of artistic addressing before your post.I clicked on them and was very impressed with their work (and prices). Would you mind posting or FM'ing me when they arrive so I can hear 'straight from the horses mouth' how they came out? Thanks!

will do! I hope to get them today or tomorrow. The woman I dealt with (Kathy) was so great. And quick and friendly! Wonderful customer service and I'm sure the product will be perfect!

But I'll let you know for sure, once I get them. I plan on taking some pics anyway and posting them :)
