I have about 175 invites going out for my wedding. Is it necessary to get them done professionally or can I do it on the computer?

Re: calligrapher for invitations needed?
there were a bunch of threads on this earlier today .. so u could probably find some opinions on page 3 or 4 or something.
personally im not going to get a calligrapher or handwrite them .. id go crazy doing that for 200 invites! i'm going to find a pretty font and use clear labels. but thats just me

You will hear lots of anti label sentiment on the boards (and I tend to agree). I didn't want to spend a lot on invitations, and didn't trust my printer. I hired Inkspun (http://www.inkspun.com) who does digital calligraphy really cheap, but beautiful. They'll send you samples if you are curious about quality.
Good luck with your decision.

Liz060703 - Yes, I was very happy. For the money the invitations looked great, and Inkspun was super easy to work with. I'm not going to claim that it looks as good as exceptional hand-done, but it was well done, and some people couldn't even tell it was computerized. After getting my invitations done I was so pleased that I had them do the seating cards as well.

Re: calligrapher for invitations needed?
I have the name of a great calligrapher who will do computer lasered or hand calligraphy. She's very reasonable & will have your envelopes back in less than a week in most cases. FM me if you want the info! I've sent a few girls to her & all were very happy!!!! Good luck!
