Calligraphics - Calligraphy by Mary Ellin Kurtz
Hey brides!
I will tell you the truth. I didn't really have the cash to get calligraphy for my invitations - even *I* thought it was an unnecessary expense. I know Mary Ellin Kurtz of Calligraphics http://www.maryellinkurtz.com/ personally. My fiance and I both feel strongly that in these tough times, we all have to do what we can to help each other... so in that vein, I asked Mary Ellin to do my invitations. Her prices are reasonable and her work, well...
I'm not a frilly girl. I don't get excited about things like this... but when I got these envelopes, I was just honest-to-goodness mesmerized.
They are STUNNING. My hubby2B said they look like they could have been printed, they're so consistent. They're just gorgeous.
Our invitations are an odd size and shape so we ordered our envelopes from http://source-envelope.com/ in Farmingdale. They're a lovely, heavy weight paper in pearl white. Because we needed such a small quantity (125), they wouldn't print our return address on them (but they did send me 150 6' square envelopes for $15 + $5 shipping)! Mary Ellin printed our return addresses on the envelopes for us with her laser printer. They are perfect. Absolutely perfect.
One more thing, not that I would recommend waiting until the last minute, but we did... Mary Ellin's turnaround time to get the finished product back to me was ridiculously fast.
So in the end, what I thought was a frivolous and unnecessary expense turned out to be one of my favorite personal touches so far in my planning process. I wish I had taken pictures of them to post but in getting them out so late, I didn't think to do so.
Call Mary Ellin. You'll be so very glad you did.
