is there really a noticeable difference between these types of calligraphy? we were going to use hand on the invites, but not sure if it's really worth the higher price.
if anyone had pics to share of either, that'd be awesome!
thanks!

Re: calligraphy - hand vs. machine
I dont have a picture of it because I told my sister not to waste an invite on me (im pretty sure i would remember her wedding date haha) but my sister did the machine for hers and got them from inkspun.com they are in westchester and it was VERY easy and they looked just as good as calligraphy and they were SOOOO much cheaper!! So I would definitely recommend it! That is my plan!! HTH! Good Luck!!

Re: calligraphy - hand vs. machine
I've heard that hand calligraphy can bleed if it's raining when the mail is delivered or if there's any other rain/wetness at any other point in transport. My fmil is a graphic artist who does programs and invitations and strongly encouraged me to have it done by machine for that reason. The hand ones do look gorgeous though!

All the 'computer calligraphy' I've seen ahs just been printing in a fancy font. Def. a big difference, but I have only ever gotteon ONE invitation with hand calligraphy

Re: calligraphy - hand vs. machine
unfortunatly no pics but I used inkspun.com for computer calligraphy and it looked amazing. literally pennies an envelope (I think .24) and had them in a few days. Depends on what is important to you...for me...the envelope is tossed out in 15 secs so it wasnt worth it for me

Re: calligraphy - hand vs. machine
I personally knew I always wanted hand calligraphy on my wedding invites, and I found a very reasonable, amazing calligrapher. [email protected]. We did computer calligraphy (ourselves), and printed directly on the envelopes, for our e-party. I think either is fine! They both look great. If you are having a very elegant or high end wedding I think hand calligraphy is a nice touch. I just don't think that clear labels or white printed labels are nice for a wedding, or really anything for that matter. Printing directly on the envelope looks SO much nicer, and can literally be done on any home printer. Good luck!! If you want to email Michele, do so!! She books up at least 6 months in advance. I booked her in November for my June wedding and almost missed her.

Re: calligraphy - hand vs. machine
The machine calligrapahy place in my area is actually more money then the hand ones I've been in contact with.
