I did it. I know some people say you shouldn't, but I've gotten so many awful looking hand written invites lately, that I actually prefer it!! I turned out just fine, and I didn't have any comments about it. Just make sure you practice before hand and have a few extra envelopes for the mess ups!

i did it on the computer, used printshop. they came out beautifully. i would just cut a few pieces of paper the exact size of the envelope to practice on for spacing issues. had very few jams, they really were very easy!

Personally, I think most of the time the computer caligraphy looks better on the handwritten version. The handwritten one is usually not even and has shakey strokes. If you prefer, the use the computer.

I used a font called 'marraige script' and they came out beautifal. I can show you a picture if you like.

I did the inner envelopes with a nice font on the computer. They came out really nice and it was cheap.

We did it on the computer. I got the same font as the invites. Once we figured it out, it went pretty smoothly. I think it looks very nice. Not sure how you could tell if it was from the computer/printer or from a caligrapher.

same here!! I was skeptical @ first, but I'm loving it! Let me try to post what font and color we are using.

ETS: I couldn't find a way to post it from WORD but we are using Font Edwarian Script in a size 36 and a gray color to match the invite ink color!

I did it, and loved how they looked. I made a template up in Word (for my envelope size) and then hand fed the envelopes through a laser printer. Plus, the font on the envelope matched the invitation font, and I liked the idea of having it consistent.

Just curious.....does doing your own mean you dont need a printer for your invitations...how much $$ does this save?

We did exactly that last night!! We cut paper the size of the envelope and practiced...it looked great to us..and I was actually worried that a regular envelope would jam...glad to hear that its not big problem!

I am having it done through Kathy @ Follow Your Heart. I saw samples and it is so pretty. I personally like computer better. I don't have the patience to print out 160 envelopes inside and out

I did it with Encore. They came out awesome. The price was (to me) a little steep. Hopefully it was worth it.

I'm doing it myself. So far so good. It was easy to setup. I'm doing it merging an Microsoft Access Databse with an Envelope templates in Microsoft Word. We're using Epson ink jet printers.

why would people say you shouldn't
do you really think EVERYONE pays for a calligrapher (i DONT mean that in a snotty way)

i think anything but hand writing it is appropriate... i have never seen that before
