I just received a quote from a calligrapher... For 80 invitations both inner and outer envelopes I was quoted $225... Is that high or is it right on target?
Thanks in advance for your input!!

Re: Calligraphy quote...
That seems high to me.. That would be close to $3 per set. My girl is charging me $1.5 for inner/outer set. FM if you want her contact info.

If that is hand calligraphy, it is NOT high at all. That is around the going rate for a talented professional calligrapher.
Many charge $1 per line.
I have heard of hand calligraphers in Manhattan charging as much as $9 per envelope.
Many of the less expensive 'hand calligraphers' just have a pretty handwriting
Whether its expensive reallydepends on the quality of the work.

I'm paying $1.50 for inner/outer for hand calligraphy and my girl is a talented, professional calligrapher. I think spending $1 per line, or $9 per envelope is absolutely insane but that is JMHO.

I paid 1.50 for my calligrapher for inner and outer for my envelopes & she did a beautiful job. 9 bucks is definitely high to me.

I got a great deal through EZ Calligraphy. I would definitely look into them.
