Calligraphy question

Hi girls, 2 questions here... TIA!

1) Do I bring just the envelopes only to the calligrapher?

2) When should I send out my invititations for a May 12th wedding? I was thinking last week in February?? My RSVP date is for April 7th.

TIA

Re: Calligraphy question

The calligrapher only needs the envelopes, unless you want them to try and match one of the fonts on your invite...

as for sending them out, I did about 6-8 weeks before the RSVP date I think

Re: Calligraphy question

I think etiquette calls for the invites to be mailed out 6-8wks prior to your wedding date;RSVP dates approx. a month prior to your wedding. However, this is not set in stone. If you have a lot of OOT folks coming in, then you'd probably want more time.

try not to give too m uch time for them to have the invites because sometimes it backfires in that guests don't remember the RSVP date or the wedding date.

Re: Calligraphy question

I mailed my invitations out 6 weeks prior and it worked out good. I am not sure i would do much longer than 6 weeks. If you give people too much time it could get lost.

Re: Calligraphy question

I'm on the monthly plan -

wedding is march 24th

rsvp by february 24th

mail out on January 24th

easier for me to remember that way...and about right as far as timelines go...
