Calligraphy software for invites?

Hi Ladies,

When I picked up my invites last week, I asked about calligraphy services to address my envelopes. The price I was quoted was close to what I paid for the invites themselves! I am way over budget, and I'm looking to save some $ by addressing all of my invites myself, using a calligraphy program.

Has any one else done this themselves? If, so which software program do you recommend? My invites are square, and I need a program which can accomodate that size.

Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!

How did you get the envelopes to line up correctly for printing?

When you print envelopes from Word, there are options that help you figure all that out.

In order to make the addresses centered, i submit to you the following advice, based on my announcements....

1-there is a custom measurement feature in word and you can enter the measurements of your envelope.

2-cut out a piece of paper the same shape as your envelope and enter it the way you would enter your envelope (i drew a little flap on the back) so you are not wasting real envelopes you paid for and you can play around...

hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the advice Ladies!

I downloaded Edwardian Font from dafont.com.
I'll try it out and let you know how it goes!

In MS word go into the tools menu, then letters and mailings and then envelopes and labels. You can choose your font and once you are done you should be able to place your envelope into the printer and Print it off onto the envelope.
Good Luck! If you have any questions feel free to FM me. I am doing the same for my envelopes.

I just used Word... turned out the font Vivaldi that's already a font on Word matched my invites. However, you can go to dafont.com or just google 'free fonts' and a whole load come up that you can download. you can search through ones you like or ones that will closely match your invites. good luck

also, i just printed mine on clear lables... i didnt' want to risk them getting printed crooked or getting jammed in the printer because of course i ordered 125 invites.. so only 125 envelopes... god forbid i got some extras. i used the 3'x6' labels so i could make the fint really big and it looked a little more elegant...
