Calligraphy - yay or nay?

Calligraphy - yay or nay?

Does anyone know how much calligraphers charge per envelope? I've heard there is a much cheaper way to do it that looks pretty much the same? Does anyone know about that or how much that method costs per envelope?

It's all on your personal preference- you can have laser calligraphy which is much cheaper than hand Calligraphy.

I personally am getting hand calligraphy done. I will tell you I have been quoted $3.00 per envelope. Fortunately a friend of my mother's does calligraphy and will be doing it for us.

I think it is half the price to do laser.

I paid $1.50 an envelope for the calligraphy. I probably could have gotten it cheaper but the person who did it was near my house and she did a reallly nice job. I have gotten so many compliments about my invitation

We used Inkspun who I found on this website. Its done by machine I think but I thought it looked just as nice and couldn't tell.It was very inexpensive & gets done quickly.

I have heard quotes of anywhere from $2-$3 per envelope for the real deal....

You could try calling the art department at a local college I think adelphi offers calligraphy classes - and they have some talanted students. You might find someone who is looking to pick up some money but who may not be as expensive as a professional who relies on it for their living

I used All Type (on this site) for the laser printing in a caligraphy font and I couldn't tell the difference. It's cheaper than calligraphy. I'm not into fancy stuff though.

Another happy Inkspun customer here. They charge $0.39 per outer envelope and $0.20 for each inside envelope. The envelopes looked great!

I havent done mine yet but I want calligraphy. I received an invite to a wedding this past week and it had a label on it... I would never do that. It looked horrible!!

I am going to deal with Calligraphy by June a vendor on here. Loved her style and she charges about $2.50 per set. Her hand calligraphy styles are very pretty

We used a laser calligrapher ... charged $1.15 per & she sprayed them also. I liked this much better b/c she matched the font of the invite & they came out sooo beautiful!

fm me for info ... she's fantastic ... gets them back to you in less than 1 week.

i'm using hand calligraphy. i was quoted $2.25 total for both the outer and inner envelope. however, i have also heard $4+ and i think that's a LOT. i like the swirly, squiggly style you can get with hand calligraphy that you cant really get with a printer.
