CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

I was just wondering where all you 9/03 brides were at with your vendors & things. EVERYONE keeps telling me that I am soooooo ahead of myself, but I feel like I'm lagging, and that not everything is going to be done by the time the wedding comes around......

pete wouldn't go if every other guy in the world was there..... if he knew it was going to incorporate some type of wedding talk - he would run screaming!

Wow, major progress on the number of posts ladies. I was out all night looking at houses. Nothing I liked

FI will not be joining me that night....maybe later on if more Fi's come but not early on.

O.K after reading other posts I have come up with MY opinion. (only an opinion). The 04 brides are having a GTG and didn't open it up to the boards. The Newlyweds are haveing a GTG and didn't open it up to the boards and the May brides are planning a GTG. I say we don't open it up but do invite those other girls we feel close to or would like to join us??????

I'm with you, Curly - there are two girls on the Oct board that I LOVE (OctBride03 and mv1003) who would have fun....

And no, FH would NOT come - again, he'd rather slice his eyeballs with a razor than sit in a room with a bunch of chicks talking about their weddings. That would be Chinese water torture for the poor boy. Kind of like me being trapped in a room full of cops talking about 'the job.' ACK!

Yes, FH would much rather hang with the boys and watch a game. If I really wanted him to come he would but I wouldn't put him through the torture of having to listen to a bunch of girls going on about wedding stuff. LOL

Hi Ladies...wow, you've made progress on the number of posts!!! Just trying to help us get to 1000...here's my update:

we are closing on our house on or before March 7th!!! I CANNOT believe we will be homeowners (and moving out of NYC).

Interviewed 2 florists this weekend - both gave me a quote of about $3000 - $3500...does this seem high to you girls? Keep in mind I'm doing tons of candles and very small/low centerpieces. Yikes!!

We just finalized our honymoon to Italy - YAY. I wish I was there now and out of this F***ing negative degree weather!

Jenny I am using Burton's - I am paying $1400 for everything - 8 inch glass bowls with whatever flowers I want for centerpieces with a few votives and scattered rose petals on the tables, pew bows, my bouquet, the girls' bouquets, all the bouts and the altar flowers. I can further have whatever flowers I want on the bouquets....roses. lilies, stephanotis, whatever. Burton's is a wedding wholesaler florist that does ONLY weddings, so their costs are lower. You may want to check them out.

Thanks Thrilled - i will. Since our wedding is out east I was trying to get soemone local but I think that may wind up being more expensive. Seems like the Hamptons is out of control for prices!

When do we have to give a definite 'yes' for the GTG? I'd love to go, but Huntington is faaaarrrrrr away from the Upper West Side where I work -- although I could try to leave early for you guys

Jennyg- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! on your closing date. I can only imagine how exciting and emotional it is. Best wishes!!!!
As far as the flowers- I am using a vendor on this site, A Florid Affair, and I am paying about 2G's for EVERYTHING!. I say get a second quote.

Terrier- Being that the GTG is not until March I would say we would make reservation about the first week of March. You have time to decide. Hope you can make it

BM dresses - UGH!! I thought I was being the mellow cool bride by saying 'we'll just get them off the rack so you will definitely wear them again.' If we don't find anything by mid-Feb, I'm going to order them from Jim Hlem and be done with it!!

Have you all gotten your BM dresses? Also, is anyone's wedding dress in yet? Mine was supposed to be in this month but havne't heard anything from the Bridal salon yet..I can't wait to put it on again!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes on the closing. it IS a bit daunting trying to plan the wedding and buy a house and pay for everyhting!!!

I haven't ordered my dress or the bridemaids dresses. I went for the first time with all my girls this past Monday and although, they found a few they liked they didn't decide on one yet. Like you jenng, I am trying to be the cool bride and let them pick the dress but I think I may have to step in and take over. LOL

One more post and we will be at 1000!!
