Wondering which of you brides decided to book with a wedding planner and which ones didn't. If you did choose to use a wedding planner what did you find most helpful, and if you chose to plan your entire wedding yourself, why?
I wish I had either used a wedding planner, or found this site before my wedding. So much would have been different.

I chose to plan the whole wedding myself becasue it was my day and I wanted it the way I wanted it. I did not feel that it was necessary to hire a wedding planner. Everything is easy to take care of yourself. I thought it was an unecessary expense. My wedding day was perfect right down to the last detail and I have no regrets that I did not hire someing to be my planner!!!

DH and I planned the weddings ourselves. We considered getting a wedding planner in the middle of the process, because we are OOT. In the end, we decided against it. It's almost like a double-edged sword--by the time you get the planner up to speed on everything, you might was well just do the work yourself. If you engaged on in the beginning, you may not encounter that obstacle.
My brother and his wife used a planner but it didn't end up that well for them. They hired her in the middle of the process and in addition to introduce her in the middle of planning, she has refused to account for the purchases or submit receipts she made with a lump sum of money my SIL gave her. Angry letters and threats of legal action are a-comin'.

i feel you only need one if you want to get appointments with vendors that you need connection with....like that famous florist Preston Bailey. That's really the only reason I would have one and i'm not having those kind of vendors

i'm such a pain in the asss that i want to plan it all myself lol.. but that's just me. i feel like a planner would be a waste of money cause i'm not so open to peoples opinions.. especially on my wedding day

I planned the wedding myself - but had a DOC which made it all possible.

the thought of hiring a wedding planner never crossed my mind.
i wanted to do everything and we were on a tight budget
