Hey ladies... I was trying to narrow down our HM locations to 3. Cause when we go to the travel agent I wanted to have 3 in mind and narrow it down by affordability. My ? to you guys is, the honeymoon expensive? How much should we budget for it ALL together? And is the cruise a cheaper option? We really want to do this location and I hope we can afford it..... please any suggestions would be verrrrrry helpful. Thanx

This is a tough question to answer for a few reasons...

1. We don't know your budget so 'expensive' is relative. You may think spending 15K is alot someone else may not.

2. What locations are you thinking of? That can help when it comes to figuring costs.

I've seen French Polynesia HMs cost anywhere from 7K up to tens of thousands. It's all what YOU want to spend.

I would sit down with your FI and figure out what you budget for you HM is and then you'll see if you can really afford a HM to this destination. You may find that what you want to spend will be fine or it may not be enough...

I'll give you this info as a starting point. If you want to spend 8-10 nights in FP expect to spend a minimum of $6000. It will cost more if you want OWB (most everyone does), or want any meals included.

Thanks so much. We were thinking that 8,000 combined would be a good budget. 8-10 nights is also good. I cant take offto much time im in sales and my union contract restricts me from taking more time than that for my honeymoon. But I wanted to incluse some spending money in that # if we could. But thats our budget in order to go to FP. we Were thinking of going to the most popular Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea. I also heard of a cruise that went around all the islands. So ive heard of alot of different options and I know with this kind of HM you can also tailor it to the couples specific budget. Any other helpful info greatly appreciated....

does your $8000 budget include food & activities?

if not, you might be able to go to tahiti, moorea, and bora bora for your HM if you're willing to sacrifice the OWB... those tend to be very expensive! or you might be able to find some sort of combination wehre you stay in the OWB for just your last night or something like that... \

the least expensive we could find for 10 nights was $8222, and that was without an overwater bungalow. you might be able to swing it with the OWB if you stay less nights...

Check out princess cruises- the Tahitian Princess goes to the islands of FP-prob the cheapest way to do it, since the food is included. We're doing the RSSC Paul Gaugain cruise, but its def gonna be more than 8k.
