Hmmm...now I'm confused...I'm doing a cruise to the Caribbean and it goes to Mexico. Should I ask the cruiseline or who do you think I should call

Re: Calling all Cruise goers....
What cruiseline is it? They should have their info on their website. Personally, I would never ever leave the country without a passport, especially now, but North American countries and the Caribbean may have different 'rules' than ROW.

Re: Calling all Cruise goers....
You don't need a pasport for mexico or canada in genreal, but it is is easier to haev oen igf you are flying or taking a cruise.
We went on a cruise to the Caribbean & they reccomened we have them. We only had to show it getting on & off in PR, not a tthe individual islands, but you are supposed to carry it with you, especailly in Islands that are their own countries, like Barbados.

we cruised to Belize with no passports..mexico, PR, and other little islands..there are different rules when you are on a cruise ship. I called Royal carribean to find out the info. But we were in Mexico in January and did not need passport

I am going on Windstar next week, leaves out of Cozumel and goes to Honduras and Belize. Windstar requires everyone to have a passport. It might be cruise specific though.

Re: Calling all Cruise goers....
On my honeymoon in late october we went to Mexico on our western carribean cruise - everyone had to have a passport. This was on Celebrity, the cousin company of Royal Carribean.
It can't hurt to bring it... and it really stunk, we needed to getup early and get checked by inspectors at like 6AM before they would let the ship leave dock.. if you don't show up, they call your name on the loudspeaker!

They are cracking down on travellers without passports if it is not an american commonwealth (ie..the British or French virgin islands)
We had to use our passports to go to Freeport in the Bahamas in January, but last time we went they accepted our NYS Licenses and birth certificates.
