Calling all PJCC brides
I just spoke to the banquet office and found out that they don't do tastings. How did you all pick out your menus? Any suggestions?

Re: Calling all PJCC brides
That is very, very strange! That was not the case when I was planning my wedding during 2000.In fact, I went back to the club several times (long story - I lived out of town, and had to take FI back to show him), and each time I went back, they offered to feed us some food from the cocktail buffet of the party that was currently going on so that we could get an idea of the kinds of dishes we could have at the wedding.
However, if you feel confident in word of mouth opinions - I must say that their food is delicious, and you will not be disappointed! Best of luck!

Food at Claud's wedding was great. The cocktail hour was beautiful on the deck. The service was excellent. It is a very nice place to host an affair.

Re: Calling all PJCC brides
I appreciate the help. I should clarify, he said I can come in and taste all the cocktail hour food, its the main courses that I can't...and actually that is what I was more concerned about. He told me to look over the menu and if there is anything I really have to try then to call and he will arrange something. I guess I always picture sitting down and tasting everything...I may have made that up in my head. Did you taste main dishes?

Re: Calling all PJCC brides
I never asked them to clarify what they meant by 'tasting,' I'd assumed that meant the actual meal as well. Thats kind of tricky! I suppose you could always go to eat at the restaurant, but it seems absurd that we should have to spend even more money just to taste the food!

PJCC restaurant chef is different than catering hall...
Be;ieve it or not, the chef for the weddings and catered affairs is different than the chef for the restaurant, so having dinner there won't solve your 'tasting' issue. To be honest, I did not taste any of the entrees before my wedding - I simply did not have time - I lived in California and had to do a lot of planning on trust and instinct. As one of my guests (Michele31) attested, the food was incredible, and the cocktail hour was amazing. Oh and my hubby and I took our dinners to go, since we didn't have time to eat them at the wedding. I can tell you that they were even delicious cold!

My brother and sister-in-law got married there in '99. I am almost positive that they tasted the main courses. But I will clarify tomorrow and let you know tomorrow. In any case, I can assure you that the food was very good. Hope that makes you feel better.

Re: Calling all PJCC brides
I also did not taste the entrees...but I had been to a wedding there before and was very happy with the food so it wasnt a big deal to me.However I think that if you havent tasted the food, and you are spending the kind of money that you are to have your wedding there, they should work something out for you.

Re: Calling all PJCC brides
Steve is who I spoke with. I am calling again later...he was very nice and seemed like he would help me out. I guess I just wish we had a regular tasting so I wouldn't have to feel like they have to go out of their way. we'll see after I talk to him
