Calling all Queens Girls..........or anybody who knows anything about Charisol Bridal

I am considering ordering my BM dresses from Charisol on Northern Blvd. in Flushing. They have been in business for many years, but I have no first hand experience with them. Has anyone used them? I am really interested in feedback on their alterations.
Thanks.

I can't give first hand experience - but a very good friend used them for her BM dresses and highly recomended them to me when I was planning- but I went quick and easy with RK because I let the girls all pick their own dress out.

Thank you Niecey, that is good to hear! I don't know anyone who has used them, so I appreciate the feedback.

I think they're ok, you just have to be very specific with the seamstress about what you want done. We had to go back several times which can really be annoying, the chinese woman (maybe the owner) really wasn't flexible with the times we could come in, which was annoying since they were the ones making the mistake...
I think they have a good policy and prices (alterations are included) but I'm going to try either Charmet or Avic for my BM dresses.

My friend got her BM dresses there and I'm going on Saturday for a fitting. So far we have had no problems with them. The dresses came in on time and they have been great to work with.
My other friend's sister got her BM dresses from there last July and she also had no problems.

I'm also getting my BM dresses there.

I dont know anything about their alterations. The only thing i do know is that I went there to price them for a lazaro bridesmaid gown and they were priced very high and wouldnt go down.

I'm getting my gown from them. I've been working with Angelica and I have not had any problems. In fact my gown came in much sooner than the said it would.

I used them for my first wedding. On my dress they were wonderful, no problems. With my girls, however, they messed up one of the fitting dates and all my girls had come in from Suffolk, Staten Island and one from NJ and they would not take them for a fitting. I was PO!!!

One of my girls made an appt. on her own for a second fitting and the lady was rude to her.

But they did do a wonderful job on the fittings and I do believe alterations were included which was a huge plus.

Just be straight with dates and times.

Also, the seamstress was a bit hard to understand like the other poster had said, so be extremely specific with her.

I don't mean to scare you and I'm actually considering using them again...

EvenEdan, I thought I read the other day that you were considering Lazaro gowns. Did you find their prices are better than elsewhere?

I live right by Charisol, my dad is their mailman...and I've used them three times as a bridesmaid in the past. I have always had a good experience with them and I ordered my dress there and my bridesmaids will also be ordering there as well. The first dress I considered ordering was a Jasmine and was about $150 less at Charisol than it was at Avic. The dress I ended up with is a Moonlight and although it was $50 more expensive than where I tried it on, the selling point for me was that the alterations are included. Also the bustling charge there is $35 as opposed to $150 at Flowerama. There is also a pressing fee, which I think is $50, but all together, it was still cheaper.

The Korean owner is relatively new and was not there when I used them in the past, but she seemed pretty nice. I believe the seamstresses are the same.

I recommend them and I hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for your help.

LImom, so far Charisol has given me the best price, but I am still searching. I will let you know how it goes. I sent you FM as well.

We ordered the bm dresses from there. The owner Kim is very nice although she comes off as short. The girls there are lovely and very helpful when you need them but they leave you alone too which I like.

Very prompt, the price was a little better for the dress we chose.

The seamstresses...another story! SO RUDE! They think what they say goes, they try to make their life easier, they told my sister she was too white and needed a tan which made me so angry. Had lots of problems with them but the final outcome was good. I got married last year so I dont know if the seamstresses are the same but be ready to be strong against them if they are.

Good luck!
