Yesterday someone at the shower I went to asked me my wedding date and I told them February. And she was like OH!!!! I once had a formal in the winter and well it didn't happen!!! I am tired of people fing complaining about how my wedding is in the winter they should just shove it!!! I want a winter wedding and that is final!! Thanks for letting me vent. This was not the first time this has happened to me.

I've come to the conclusion that some people are just.....well, crazy Everyone dreams about when they want their wedding to be and mine has always been a holiday themed wedding. I hate to sweat, I hate humidity and I love to be cold, so it makes perfect sense for me to get married in December. I hear ya!

JMO -- Great things about winter weddings:
1. If it snows, it's beautiful. Roads are cleared so quickly.
2. No humidity -- for us curly haired people!
3. We don't go out as much in the winter so a wedding would be soooo much fun.
4. It's not always cold and snowy. There are lots of gorgeous days in the winter.
5. Not as much sweating!
6. I'm hungrier in winter and would enjoy the food much more than in summer.

enjoy a winter wedding- i wanted one really badly
my cousin had one and she had the prettiest pictures in the snow
she hada blizzard on friday before her wedding- everyone even people out of state made it to her wedding- the people who really want to be at your wedding will be there no matter what

The most fun wedding I've ever been to was in the middle of a blizzard. The couple got some great pics and we will always remember their wedding.
I'm technically getting married in winter, spring is a week after, and I'm hoping for nice weather. But if it snows, oh well! We won't have to worry about sweating our butts off!

I got the same thing for over a year from people. 'Are you crazy?' ... 'Why would you pick January ....' on and on and on ...
And you know what? On my wedding day it was 45 degrees and sunny!

I love that fact that I am having a winter wedding. I have 6 weddings this summer and after a while they all seem to blend. I am also having a holiday wedding and I am hoping that it will be more memorable then your traditional summer wedding. I am actually hoping for a little snow because the pictures will look amazing...
I also have naturally curly hair and the winter cutss down on the frizz factor....

Im very excited with a Winter Wedding!!! I have had the same experience, after awhile I was like this is what I want! I went from November, to February to December because people had comments...

I went to a wedding in August of 2003 and it was 90 degrees outside with 90% humidity. To make matters worse, the bride and groom got married in an old cathedral from the late 1800’s, NO AIR CONDITIONING and a FULL 1 hour MASS! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! Everyone was dying! It was the worst ceremony I had ever been to because of the horrible heat! everyone was all dressed up and sweating like pigs. What a disgusting feeling that was.
This is the EXACT reason why FH and I decided on November!

I feel your pain! So many people have asked why I would get married in January. I just smile and state because that is what we want. People are rude! I am excited to get married in the winter and also feel that everyone who wants to be there will come no matter what!! Just think of all of the things we can do... snowflake theme, holiday theme, winter wonderland, etc... We are all going to have amazing weddings!

There are so many pros to getting married in the winter....not least of all that it's CHEAPER!!!
We had all sorts of candles and red rose petals on the tables instead of centerpieces and the room just glowed. It was so cozy and beautiful!
Winter weddings are really romantic in my opinion.

We heard that from everyone too. There was the big blizzard 2 weekends before my wedding. On our wedding day, there was plenty of leftover snow on the ground for pictures, but it was totally sunny and like 50 degrees! I didn't even have to wear a jacket!
