Calling off our 06 wedding...

Actually we've deceided after thinking long and hard about it to move it to 2007. We are still thinking about running off to vegas in June to get married but to hold off on my dream wedding until June of 2007. The whole thing with the church has had me upset from the beginning and although I thought I was finally okay with everything, Im not. We also just cant afford to move the wedding to a Saturday for 06 and pay another $5000. FH is waiting for the hall to call him back to let them know we tried but we are gonna move it. We'll still pay the hall off as planned but it gives me more time to pay for the vendors I really want without compromising. I can also get married in the church I wanted to which besides the finances has been the biggest thing waying on my mind. The weather has also put a beating on our one and only car so I want to buy another one in case anything happens to this one and I definetly want to get out of my inlaws ASAP. Im sad but the extra year wont kill me. Like I said we are planning to go to Vegas to get married in June on the same day as we plan to move the wedding to in 2007. So I'll still be around posting and going to showcases but I guess I'll be dethrowned from the 06 board

You are definitely not dethroned from the 06 board. If this is what is best for you, then I am happy. You deserve to have the wedding of your dreams.

I am so sorry to hear that you are so upset! You have to do what is best for FH & you & your family! The stress of a wedding plus all the other stress is very hard to handle & deal with! Don't think you are dethrowned from the 06 board! You are still welcome over there! we are all here for you

Hey Ant....Im sorry to hear that but the wedding is still on and thats what matters!!!
Sometimes things dont work out as planned and who knows what the future may bring. Maybe we will see another post saying you bumped the wedding sooner
Either way, lots of luck with everything and you still are a 06 Bride to us( on the 06 Board).
You better stay around!

You guys are great thanks for the support. I think it's the right decision and like it was said at least the wedding is still on and a year isn't a long time I know we started planning our 06 wedding at the end of 04. Im looking forward to my trip to vegas in June. We looked into other places and because of the kids we are short on time to be away and everywhere else had longer waiting periods. We arent planning on telling anyone except a few immediate family members on my side who wont be negative that we still want to spend money on the wedding after eloping. We figure we will pay the hall off as planned and then pay one vendor off at a time until it's all done. Im glad Im still welcome on the 06 boards and Im glad I have so much support.

I'm sorry to hear but I'm sure that the decision that you made was the right one. Besides vegas sounds like a lot of fun, I actually considered it for my renewal but decided on mexico instead. good luck with everything.

Thanks again. Please dont feel bad Im not thrilled but Im not upset either. I have a good feeling about it as long as the hall doesnt give us a hard time.
