It's been so crazy lately! First of all, I was not planning on having any bridesmaids, maid of honors, etc. because I did not need the extra stress. It's my wedding day it should be about our wedding, not them.
Suddenly I have 2 MOHs, a bridesmaid and my fiance has 1 BM and 3 groomsmen. We went to stores to try on dresses, pick colors, purchase dresses, and more. I'm questioned over why I picked them to be in the bridal party and the one person who was asked to be escorting the best man has said no.
Now 1 MOH is pregnant, her dress does not come in maternity and is a different color and material than everyone. My mom is having a fit over that and wanting to change the color or she won't take part in helping me with the wedding.
Now I am considering just telling everyone that there is no bridal party because of the drama. I should have stuck with my initial reasoning!

that's why I am just having a MOH and Best Man. Why don't you tell them you changed your mind b/c of $$?

I could also just have 1 MOH and 1 BM, but how do you tell the other MOH (pregnant) not to be in the bridal party? I can tell the others that it is $$$ but what if they offer to pay?

I am not having any BM's or MOH. My reasoning is exactly how you felt, plus in my situation ppl would get upset if I chose someone else to be my MOH. Too much hassle!
As for the pregnant girl, tell her that you understand how hard it is for her, pregnancy blah blah blah
I agree, your wedding is all about you, so do whatever you please! Good luck

If we thought simple, we wouldn't be on here, we would all just run to vegas and have elvis marry us in a quickie ceremony

Re: Calling off the Bridal Party! (kinda long vent)
I do wish I could fire them all, should've gone with my gut instinct but now I'm stuck!!! In a good way, I think.
I just gave in to my mother to go with the light pink instead of the clover green. Everything would just get worse if I tell the bridal party to forget it - I just know it.
I live out of state, about 450 miles away from my fiance, family and bridal party. So it has been a real challenge to travel back and forth every second or third weekend of the month to make sure the ball is kept rolling.
My matron of honor would do the dress part for me but she's tied up with her newborn baby. My maid of honor is pregnant and she has her pregnant moments.
Good thing mom's there!!

I can't really blame you. Can she get a new dress in the same color?

Re: Calling off the Bridal Party! (kinda long vent)
its probably too late to 'fire' bridal party -but since its not what u want originally u probably dont care much about how they look -reallly-right? if the dresses are not bought yet just have them wear whatever and if the dresses dont come out exactly right -it probably doesnt matter either! since u originally wanted no bridal party -are you really wanting perfect bridal party pictures? isn't that why they match or wear the color u want-for the pictures? have them look whatever- they dont all have to stand with you two up there- have them sit first row with one bm or moh or whatever up with u and have photographer focus on group shots of dancing and guest at tables, your parents/or close family and especially you and hubby. and not so much on 'perfect matching wonderful bridal party' - so years later their outfits especially wont matter!?
also, i am sure these bridal party people were picked for a good reason- and if you had all these wonderful people in one group shot in their pajamas- wouldnt that be nice too? so what if you did not have a bridal party but all these people are special and would definitely be at the wedding -so at the wedding- since they were not in the bridal party-they would not match-but since its a wedding they;d all be dressed up-so they all take a picture together-smiling - laughing- and it comes out very nice because they are all dressed up -but not matching.. so it'll be like that, right!?
hope this helps! sorry i babble and ramble this early!
