CALLING Sweetheart Table Users...

If you have BMs & GMs, how will/did you arrange them in the seating plan?
Will/Did you sit them near you?
Will/Did you sit them with their guests?

Is it true that the closer a person is to the couple, the higher the importance in the B&G's eyes?

I'm contemplating seating arrangements right now... help!

yes you are supposed to put your family closest to you..but I think the in BP case, they can sit whereever, so that all the friends are together...I think thats what we are going to do.

Lol... when I read it at 1st, I was like 'huh?'...

I would want to do the same thing as you, but FH (Mr. 'I-wanna-be-involved') wants the BP within ear-shot.. cause they're supposed to be our 'right-hand' people.

Our parents are sitting next to us and our BP are sitting with our guests.

Some people do put the BP and their parents, near them. I have been at weddings where FH was in the BP and the some B&G chose to have us sit next to them and others had us mixed in with the rest of the friends..

BTY..why are you doing this now?!?!?!?

It was us at a sweetheart then my bridesmaids (minus my SIL) and their dates and my brother (a groomsmen) all sitting together and they were on the side of us that my family was on.

Then the other side was the groomsmen and there dates (plus with SIL) were of to his side with his family.

Then each was followed by the parent/grandparent/godparent table then family, then friends, then work friends, schoolmates.... ect as per each side.

Yes, definitely preview & spell-check...

Not doing it right now... FH is being a pain today... lol. He wanted to decide how we're going sit the BP, so that when the time came to do the seating arrangements (after RSVPs), we'll know exactly, and not have to get into a disagreement about it. Personally, I don't care where the BP sits, however, I know there's that tradition of those most important sit closest.

Do you know how your room is going to be set-up?

I know Leonards usually does it a specific way and I think we are going to change it...

We did it the same way.

I would like to do it the 'traditional' way, but being that we choose sweetheart table, it takes away from the tradition, no?

So I gave it to the FH. We'll have parents in one table, directly across the BP table on the opposite side. Then have family, friends, BP guests, work friends, etc....

I liked the way they had the room setup when I saw it. They had the Sweetheart Table, with guest tables to the right & left of it ~ in a zigzag pattern.

how are you going to change it?

I liked the way they had the room setup when I saw it. They had the Sweetheart Table, with guest tables to the right & left of it ~ in a zigzag pattern.

The room that we saw they had the SH table at the head of the room and the band all the way at the opposite side. I know they just redid the room..so maybe they changed the set-up..But we want to sit in the middle of the room so we are in the middle , instead of only on one side.

I think we might put the band in the middle too

My room is set up weird. I will have on one side of me the BP and their dates and on the other side of me will be our friends. Then across from us will be our families.

We had our closest family members closest to us , at there own table, our bridal party was scattered with friends. We were hardly at the table we were so busy taking pictures and greeting all of our guests. I hope this helps.

I am seating my family close to me, which is my bridal party..... It makes it a little bit easy.

Our bridal party sat all over the place with their guests. They were seated with other guests they knew and would be more comfortable sitting with.

I think having them in the bridal party indicates how close you are to them, I don't think it's measured by distance from the sweetheart table.
